Job Title: Senior Software & Network Engineer
Job Type: FT/Exempt or Contract
Reports to: Regional General Manager

Job Summary: The Senior Software & Network Support Engineer handles the hardware and software installation, support, and maintenance for PRS of Georgia and its client hospitals. This person also works with technical staff at affiliated radiology practices and hospitals to ensure that they are able to run the PRS systems at their sites.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Manage all technical aspects of maintaining the PRS data center
    1. Installation
    2. Updates
    3. Backup
    4. Support
  2. Implement technology at client sites
    1. Responsible for client workflow assessment
    2. Responsible for assessing client technology needs and making hardware, software, and equipment recommendations to client and to senior PRS management.
    3. Provide technical training for:
      1. PRS technology solutions to client's technical staff
      2. CT/RT training to client personnel when requested
    4. Provide PRS management with technical assistance regarding technology procurement/technology implementation as it regards PRS internal image distribution and market solutions
    5. Ensure integration of client imaging modalities with PRS technology solutions. Responsible for on-site project implementation, including hardware/software set-up, testing, and evaluation

    7. Coordinate PRS technical support and monitoring with on-site client technical staff
    8. Liaison between PRS and technology providers, systems integrators and hardware vendors
    9. Responsible for "TURN-KEY" implementation of PRS technology solutions to various client facilities
  3. Administer network
    1. Ensure continuous, uninterrupted availability of PRS network for information and image transfer and management
      1. Supervisory responsibilities:
        1. Coordinate contractor services and supervise all technical contractors to PRS subsidiary
      2. External (Client) network support
        1. Primarily responsible (through subordinate personnel) for continuous monitoring of client networks and interface(s) with PRS technology solutions
        2. Provide remote or on-site client technical support as required
  4. Assist in other ways as needed
    1. Occasionally will be required to accomplish specific tasks at discretion of PRS management. Examples:
      1. Imaging clinic site evaluations
      2. Vendor negotiations
      3. Client negotiations (at sole discretion of PRS Managing Board)

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2-5 years working in radiology industry
  • Technical expertise in network/system hardware and software
  • Microsoft CNE
  • BS in Information Technology or related field
